Juneteenth, is a holiday that commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States. On June 19th, 1865, Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas, and announced that all slaves were free. This momentous occasion marked the end of slavery and the beginning of a new era of freedom for African Americans.
